How We Pay You
Payment Collection
Eka generally collects payments from Advertisers at the time that a booking is completed and then calculates Display Owners’ total Payout on a month-by-month basis.
Valid Payout Method
In order to receive a Payout, you as a Display Owner must have valid bank account information linked to your Eka account. When you purchase access to an Eka device or visit the banking details page of your account menu, you will be asked to provide relevant financial information such as your name, billing address, and financial institution information that may include your account number, tax identification number, and the name associated with the account. You must provide the requested information promptly and accurately in order to receive any Payout. The information Eka requires for a valid Payout Method may change, and Eka may request additional information at any time. Failure to provide any additional or modified requested information may result in Eka temporarily placing a hold, suspending, or canceling any Payout until the information is provided and, if necessary, validated. You authorize Eka to collect your information and store it in Stripe, as described further in the Eka Privacy Policy.
Payout Structure
Your monthly Payout consists of a portion of the Total Booking Amount, defined as the total price of bookings on owned displays over a one-month period less applicable fees including service fees and applicable taxes. The portion of the Total Booking Amount for a display included in a Payout will increase with the average occupancy of the display’s advertisement slots over the one-month period. This payout may range from 10% to 35% for displays based on display occupancy. This Payout structure ensures that as more advertisements are aired in your establishment, both the amount and percentage of your revenue Payout increase accordingly.
Timing of Payout
Subject to and conditional upon successful completion of bookings by Advertisers and receipt of the payments for these bookings by Eka, Eka will generally initiate a Payout to the Display Owner’s provided financial institution on a monthly basis. This Payout will cover all Advertiser bookings aired on the display over a one-month period, and Eka will generally remit these Payouts by end of day on the 20th of the following month. Eka will only initiate a Payout once the total amount of the Payout exceeds $25 in order to account for any transaction fees charged from financial institutions to Eka; if the initial monthly Payout amount does not exceed $25, it may take more than one month-long Payout cycle for the Payout to be processed. You may view past Payouts within the Eka mobile application.
Payout Restrictions
Eka may temporarily place a hold, suspend, or cancel any Payout for the purposes of preventing unlawful activity or fraud, risk assessment, security, completing an investigation, or if we are unable to verify your identity or to obtain or verify requested information. Furthermore, Eka may temporarily place a hold on, suspend, or delay initiating or processing any Payout due to any potential or actual violation of our Terms of Use or Content and Conduct Policy, due to high-volume booking cancellations, or modifications arising from a Force Majeure Event (as defined below).
Force Majeure
Eka shall not be liable for any delay or failure to fulfill any obligation under this Payout Policy caused by unusual or unforeseeable circumstances outside the Eka’s reasonable control, the consequences of which would have been unavoidable despite all efforts to the contrary. This includes, but is not limited to, acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, pandemics, Internet outages, epidemics or disease, strikes or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor or materials (“Force Majeure Event”).
Payout Currency
Eka will provide Payouts to Display Owners in the currency of the country in which the Display Owner is located, unless otherwise specified in the mobile application or via email. Note that payment service providers may impose transaction, currency conversion or other fees based on the financial information you provide, and Eka is not responsible for any such fees and disclaims all liability in this regard.
Cancellations
Display owners will receive Payouts only based on content that has aired on their display each month. If an Advertiser cancels a booking partially or in its entirety, the Display Owners whose displays are included in that booking will not receive any Payout for the time period after the cancellation was initiated.
Account Deletion
As described in the Eka Terms of Use, account deletion for Display Owners with active displays (displays with one or more bookings) may take up to one month to complete. All Payouts due to the Display Owner at the time the account deletion was request will be provided to the Display Owner as part of the account deletion process. We cannot provide any additional Payouts after the account is successfully deleted.
Limits on Payouts
For compliance or operational reasons, Eka may limit the amount of a Payout. To provide an amount above that limit, Eka may make several Payouts (potentially over multiple days) in order to provide your full Payout amount.
Payment Service Providers
Payouts involve the use of third-party integration with Stripe. In accordance with Stripe’s Terms of Use, Stripe may charge you additional fees when processing Payouts in connection with the Payment Services (including deducting charges from the Payout amount), and Eka is not responsible for any such fees. Eka disclaims all liability in this regard. Your preferred method of payment may also be subject to additional terms of use from Stripe, and we encourage you to review them when entering your financial information.
Handling of Funds
Eka may combine amounts that it collects from Advertiser bookings and invest them as permitted under applicable laws. Eka will retain any interest earned on these investments.
User-provided Financial Information
Eka is not responsible for any loss or delay in payments suffered by you as a result of incorrect financial, identifying, or other information provided by you.
